Not a remake of the James Herriott books

From Empire: "We don’t know about you, readers, but when Empire thinks of All Creatures Great And Small, we think of soothing Sunday evening viewing, of the world’s most famous vet, James Herriott, of Christopher Timothy with his hand stuck up a cow’s arse." At times, the writing of Empire is eerily similar to our own thoughts, don't you agree? Glad to read that someone else under the age of 60 has watched ACGAS. Though perhaps I should not be surprised seeing as it is a British publication.

you should try this tea!

am totally loving this new tea I tried by the Republic of Tea called Pineapple Ginger Green tea. It is lovely. Perfect for a Sunday morning. Makes me want to swear off Starbucks...

the wrong box

so I called both of you but neither picked up. I found a first edition copy (from 1889!!!) of THE WRONG BOX. oh am was I excited (not really sure if anyone other than us would be so thrilled about it since I am pretty sure no one else has either seen the movie or heard of the book as it is more obscure robert louis stevenson). I think it is ready for a remake!! (oh young michael caine, how awesome you were!)

wft happened to gloucester??

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080619/hl_nm/usa_pregnancy_teens_dc_3
crazy ladies and their pregnancy pact. are they stupid or what? true, I diagnosed 4 teen pregnancies last week in my clinic...but you expect that in DC....

someone else has heard of tasha tudor!

From jezebel:
"When I was nine, I wrote a fan letter to Tasha Tudor. For those of you unfamiliar with the children's illustrator who died yesterday at the age of 92, she was as known for her aggressively anachronistic 19th century lifestyle on a New England farm as she was for her delicate watercolors of children and animals. As a pantaloons-wearing third-grade oddball who'd rigged up a fake root cellar in my back yard, the idea that a grown-up could pursue this kind of eccentricity so boldly was very appealing. Born into an old Boston family (about which she talks a lot in The Private World of Tasha Tudor and The Tasha Tudor Cookbook - what, you don't have them?) Tasha Tudor was in fact a hardworking artist who illustrated more than a hundred books and raised four children as a single mother. That she lived by candlelight, had hundreds of corgis, spun her own flax, raised goats and chickens and wore clothing exclusively from the 1830s was almost incidental - which is what made it so awesome."
