new potter trailer! I liked it . Very ominous. Freaky shots of ralph fiennes screaming interspersed with dialogue from a child actor almost as scary as the little boy in the omen. Love dumbledore's diction. excellent replacement casting. though the teaser does not even come close to my favorite teaser trailer for prisoner of azkaban. but i guess you can't put singing frogs in all of the films.

A review

I called you both to discuss, but sadly neither of you seems to be around. Matthew G is quite good. Hayley A is ok most of the time. But sadly I couldn't quite accept Ben W. Maybe because he is blond. And his voice was just wrong to me. His mannerisms are over-the-top, which was disappointing. The whole thing also was just obvious. Character would state things with no subtly. So depressing. Some bits at the beginning are good, but then it just started to depress me. Now am watching the old version cause I love it so. Here are comparison pics. Are you guys planning on seeing it?

V.v. interesting video on Matthew Goode . He appears to be a good-natured but dirty-mouthed drunk. Though perhaps, he is just playing a character for the interview. I particularly liked his impression of himself in Match Point.

So I finished watching the first season of Gossip Girl. So good. Lots of punching and over-the-top fashion. Hopefully won't go downhill in season 2 a la The OC.
And I absolutely love Chuck Bass. He has to be my favorite character. So good at lurking and brooding. Who else could pull off lines like, " I am Chuck Bass" with a straight face.He is prepperific.

The comic genius of Simon Pegg et al is finally available here in a legal format that isn't the tiny Youtube screen! Score for geeks everywhere who love British tv! Cannot tell you how excited I am except to say that I went to Newbury Comics on my lunch break at noon to buy the thing even though it just came out today.

AwAwAwesome Thing #1

Finally saw The Dark Knight! Loved it, although was gripping my chair from start to finish. 2.5 hours, really? Loved how the Joker's story about his scars changed (am a sucker for unreliable narrators etc) and also thought the part where he prances out of the hospital in the nurses dress and the bombs don't all go off, and he looks so bewildered and shakes the detonator. My only complaint was the over-the-topness of Aaron Eckharts Two-Face CGI. If he'd been more burnt and less exposed-muscle, I think it would have been better. Seriously though, my only complaint. Think la mere liked it. She loves Heath of course, was thrilled with the William Fichtner bit (so weird) and thinks Chris Nolan is a good director. So, sigh, relief.

Admittedly the video is disappointing since its such a great story song and they could have done some very cool things with castles and stuff instead of just like beating a 1700's drum (or whatever it is that they are doing). But I sometimes listen to this like on repeat driving to work. Like its the only song I play the whole way...things I am obsessed with right now include this song, wanted, sub group of James, and of course my new apt...

was kinda awesome. although I seem to recall the plot a little differently although I think I read like a 2003 draft back when it was still called "Tonight, He Comes" so um, yeah. But will s rapped for us all singing the fresh prince theme song and stuff like "getting jiggy with it" which was pretty freaking hilarious. although bateman is the best thing about the film. he is so awesome. loves it!
