Only in Cambridge

From the Boston Globe:

Drivers aggravated by parking tickets are getting some calming advice from the Cambridge transportation department -- try yoga.

The Boston-area city known for its elite universities, Harvard and MIT, printed 40,000 of the tickets as part of a public art project by artist-in-residence Daniel Peltz. Cambridge parking enforcement officers hand out about 340,000 tickets per year.

Susan Clippinger, the city's transportation chief, tells the Boston Herald the purpose of the tickets is to "debunk the idea that all parking tickets are a hostile action."

This song makes me, dare I say it,

Laugh out loud. I mean literally. Not in some hideously overused LOL way.

In summary

I believe this encounter epitomizes my date last night.

Me: Generally the Garden is much cleaner. Lots of people take their wedding photos here. But right now they are having hempfest.

My date: Hemp? Fest? You mean like a celebration of people who like to wear hemp clothing?

Me: No, like potheads.

My date. Oh. Ohhhhh. Really?

He was not trying to be funny or ironic or mocking. (I don't think he is capable of irony or sarcasm.) The night went on like that....

I might have to see this, how about it Dodie?

Lewis Carroll meets Lady Gaga in this psychedelic update of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This new adaptation blends the lyrical whimsy of Alice with high-octane physical theater and the dynamic vision of acclaimed Hungarian director János Szász (Mother Courage, Marat/Sade, The Seagull). The result is a fresh, funny, and emotional remix of Carroll's classic coming-of-age tale.

We rock at math

but we knew that already.

From Boston Magazine: "Where some schools have jocks, AB has “mathletes.” The school’s 640 average math SAT score tops the state’s, and the math team placed number one among large schools in New England last year. The not-so-secret weapon is Bill Noeth, the head of the school’s math department, who plays up geeky humor in the classroom. Kids laugh, but they also learn their stuff. The curriculum builds to college-level calculus, advanced probability, and stats. There’s even independent study available in multivariable calculus. "

love the shout out to Mr. Noeth....the legend continues

With a tagline like

"A tumblelog dedicated to everyone's favorite little shit from Mad Men and his beautifully bitchy facial expressions." You know that Pete Campbell's Bitchface has to be an awesome site.

I really like this song

By Little and Ashley.

Double rainbow

So I was listening to NPR (of course) in my endless commuting when I heard this segment on memes. It included praise of the "Double Rainbow" song. Had to check it out. It is, indeed, rather amusing.

Way better than

this. (Thought Es would enjoy seeing the RC styled curls.)
