Maxi dresses

Dodie, remember how we were looking for cheap maxi dresses last summer? I brilliantly found where to buy them, nice cotton ones, for about $20-$25. TARGET!!!! (not sure where the ones in the pic are from). I bought a blue-green one that is very comfy to wear and good for all this cali heat!!

Went to opening night of the Boston Film Festival tonight with Patrick and Steff and saw The Brothers Bloom, and despite the fact that I've been dying to see this movie since forever, was still totally blown away. I'm totally seeing it

again as soon as it's in theaters. There was a Q&A afterwards with Rian Johnson which was cool. We had to stand in line outside in the rain beforehand so the audience was totally grumpy and didn't really clap for anything before the movie, but then were hysterical as soon as it started. So other than just lacking in the awesomeness that the mini-series had, the major project was that they kept going around declaring how russell and ben were college roommates and somehow robin w-p was ben's college sweetheart. Considering that she is SEVEN years older than Ben and considering how Russell is NINE years older than Ben, its a little bit ridiculous to try and imagine them all at college together unless you picture Ben circa the 2nd voyage of the mimi. Also, as amazing as Helen M is, I missed Bill Nighy (whom the alleged producer at the q & a kept mispronouncing his name. so amateur). I dunno. I just love the original so much. And the original had james.

Who says I'm predictable?

So Thursday night was spent watching as 6'9" Lucic "put his hands around the defenseman's head and brought him down to the ice". I never would have expected having such a good time surrounded by angry, drunk canadians watching grown men kick the crap out of each other, but a good time it was.

Then Friday was spent a little more normally at The Brattle for a screening of The Maltese Falcon. And no, that scene with Peter Lorre and Humphrey Bogart never, ever gets old.

Zee Tudors

Oh mes soeurs. There is a new season of the tudors and it is incredible. It seems to involve Stephen wearing large fur-lined coats, a man with an eye patch and lots of scandal and intrigue. Also the new queen (Jane Seymore) just tucked something into her nightie...how did it stay there? And right now Henry seems to wearing fur to bed. Incredible! I'm thrilled.
